    I have started watching World Masterpiece Theater animes on Youtube in Spanish for comprehensible input. I've seen several of their animes as a kid. They're well loved in many countries so I highly recommend them. I nearly dropped this series because the episodes uploaded on Youtube has really awful audio quality and while I get the gist of the story, I struggled a lot with understanding the conversations especially in the beginning but I'm glad I decided to finish it. It's quite far-fetched for a little boy from Italy traveling solo all the way to Argentina in search for his mother to be happening in real life but I would personally file this anime in the 'slice of life' genre (and a historical one at that!). It was fascinating to see adults offering Marco wine and him chugging it down. Resident Alien  (2021) Resident Alien This isn't a nonresident alien H-1B visa type of situation - it's about an actual extraterrestrial being that came to Earth to kill humans. His ship crashed and the device he needs to destroy the human race got lost. The alien killed a certain Dr. Harry Vanderspeigle ( Alan Tudyk ) and assumed his identity so he can look for his missing device and rebuild his ship in peace. When the town doctor unexpectedly dies, they enlisted Harry's help to do an autopsy and was subsequently asked to fill in the role while they look for a replacement. "Harry" just has to blend in until he finds what he's looking for. Unfortunately, one of the kids in town (Max Hawthorne played by Judah Prehn ) has that rare genetic mutation that makes him able to see through the alien's disguise.  I wasn't expecting much, but this turned out to be one of my favorite shows in 2021! Sweet Tooth (2021-) The DC comic book the series was based on was made in 2009 but the story eerily resonates today. Most of the human population died due to the mysterious pandemic called "The Sick". Together with the inexplicable phenomena of part human and part animal babies being born, the world fell into chaos. We see a man leaving the crumbling world behind and going deep into the woods, with a hybrid baby with him - Gus  ( Christian Convery ). With each passing year and despite his father's warnings, Gus grows more curious of the world beyond the woods. Without spoiling too much, Gus left the woods to search for someone, together with Jepperd ( Nonso Anozie ). Gus discovers that in the outside world, hybrids are feared by humans and are hunted by the "Last Men" (to dwindle their numbers and to experiment on them).  This is one of the best shows from Netflix that I've watched this year. Ghosts (2019)  BBC Characters from top left - clockwise: Mary, Kitty, Pat Butcher, the Captain, Julian Fawcett MP, Robin, Mike Cooper, Alison Cooper, Humphrey, Lady Fanny Button and Thomas Thorne A married couple ( Alison and Mike ) unexpectedly inherits an old house. Instead of selling the property, they decided to renovate the house themselves in hopes of turning it into a luxury hotel. Little did they know that the house is inhabited by ghosts. The ghosts weren't keen on the couple's arrival and future plans and after their failed 'haunting' attempts one of the ghosts pushed Alison out of the window. After waking up from an induced coma, Alison discovers that she can now see ghosts after her near-death experience. Despite the name, there is nothing scary about this show. Malory Towers  (2020) Based on the book series of the same name by Enid Blyton, this show follows the life of Darrell Rivers ( Ella Bright ), and her room mates at Malory Towers. Apart from me wanting throw hands with Gwen ( Danya Griver ), it's a nice and light show that I'd highly recommend to kids (and grown ups too). I hope there will be another season. The Worst Witch (2017) The story is mainly about Mildred Hubble and the people at Miss Cackle's Academy for Witches. It is based on the books written by Jill Murphy. I'm a bit sad that Bella Ramsey (who played Mildred Hubble in the first 3 seasons) left the show but it's for her health so she knows what's best. I haven't watched the season 4 yet with Lydia Page  as the new Mildred Hubble, but the story and the cast has been really solid so far, so I have high hopes.  A Little Princess (1986) I'm pretty sure most people has either seen the 1995 film version or the 1985 anime...

The Adventures of Merlin Season 5 (BBC) 2026 Thoughts: I've been rewatching Merlin (currently on season 3)! After watching the whole dragonlord arc and that earlier episode, where Kilgharrah taught Merlin a spell similar to how the Greybeards and  Paarthurnax teach the dragonborn a dragon shout / thu'um , I'm actually convinced they got a few ideas from Merlin . Like they literally mention how dragonlords and dragons are kin and how their souls are brothers. BBC Merlin is (head)canonically a dovakhiin!! Also, I remember a fanpage wanting to organize a ten year Merlin anniversary meetup on the castle filming location in France but it lost steam over the years (my sister and I wanted to go lol). Freaks and Geeks is a 1999 American teen comedy-drama television series. The story revolves around siblings Lindsay Weir ( Linda Cardellini ) and Sam Weir ( John Francis Daley ) and their friends. Lindsay is with the 'freaks' - Daniel Desario ( James Franco ), Ken Miller ( Seth Rogen ), Nick Andopolis ( Jason Segel ), and Kim Kelly ( Busy Philipps ). Sam is with the 'geeks' - Neal Schweiber ( Samm Levine ) and Bill Haverchuck ( Martin Starr ). I originally wanted to watch this show because of the raves that I keep on reading. Also, the cast was surprisingly good (would be interesting to see James Franco, Seth Rogen and Jason Segel on their early days). This is one of the TV series that you have to finish before you'll realize how beautiful it is. I couldn't help but feel sad as I finished watching the last episode. I truly felt as if I'm parting with a friend. I really want to know what will happen to everyone since most of the freaks and the geeks grew up...

At age 18, she was hit by a toilet seat from space. Instead of crossing over, she became a grim reaper. A grim reaper's job is to collect someones soul moments before their scheduled time to die, and to guide that soul until they cross over. She was assigned in the 'External Influence' division, which handles murders, accidents, suicides, etc. Their team meets up at 'Der Waffle House' every morning, and their group leader hands out their assignments written on yellow post-its. If you're looking for a light, clean and funny TV series to watch, why not try 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch'? I remember always looking forward to watching it on the telly when I was a kid. The story is about a teenager (Sabrina Spellman), who discovered on her 16th birthday that she's a half witch/half mortal and she has magical powers. She lives with her aunts, Hilda and Zelda Spellman, along with their talking cat, Salem (who was a warlock who tried to take over the world, but failed - he was sentenced to be a cat for 100 years). For me, the first three seasons of Sabrina the Teenage Witch were the best. It doesn't mean that I didn't enjoyed the other seasons. It's just that Harvey was gone for a couple of seasons (his character is funny, plus Harvey and Sabrina looks so cute together), the Aunts were gone in the last season, plus, some really annoying characters showed up. But what the heck, Salem alone makes the whole series worth watching :] ...

I first saw the 1939 version many months ago, and I fell in love with it. It was dark, Cathy and Heathcliff were both very 'hateful', and yet I couldn't help pitying them both. Although many people say that a lot of things in the novel were omitted in the film, I really enjoyed watching it. I found myself crying at the end of the film. It was a good thing I was watching it by myself. I watched the 2009 TV version just last week. I haven't finished reading the book(I stopped at about a few chapters), so I don't know which version is closer to the novel, but Cathy and Heathcliff were much 'milder' in this version. Though I prefer the 1939 film, what I like about this version is it also featured the next generation of characters. It's still very good, though I didn't feel drawn into the story at about the first half of the series.
