Fragrance Mists and Body Mists Review

I tend to acquire decants and samples when I'm in a midst of a crash out (I'd buy actual perfumes whenever I'm in dire mental straits if my funds allow me but it does not!), so might as well put my quick thoughts about them. I'll try to update this list as I try new ones. Bath & Body Works ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ (I have repurchased these) Wild Honeysuckle - FANTASTIC! One of their more complex fragrances that I've tried. Honey right out of the gate. Smells briefly of kisses (type of aroma beads that was popular in the 90s). Then you get a burst of overwhelming jasmine flowers before settling in to subtle medley of florals. Disappointing longevity however, even for a fragrance mist. Wish I could find something that smells the same but would stay much longer. Moonlight Path  - Smells like powdery, musky flowers. Some people would say old lady perfume but this is actually one of my favorites. THE PERFECT BEDTIME SCENT! One thing I've learned is scents either get reformulat...

Movies Round Up Ep 005 (Picnic at Hanging Rock, Clue, The King and I, White Snake)

Image
Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975) If watching something without a "proper resolution" will bother you then I suggest just go on with your life without watching this film. If not, and you're in the mood for something eerie and haunting, then go ahead!  I can't forget that scene when they went to the picnic and were just laying around, ants devouring their leftover cake and all. Clue (1985) I love both posters I can't choose which to include Can be annoying at times (be forewarned) but if you just want something amusing and nothing too heavy, consider watching this whodunit. The King and I (1956) I went in The King and I knowing nothing and I CHORTLED as soon as I saw white people trying to pass off as Thai and Burmese. I didn't know the song 'Getting To Know You' was from this movie (well, not I do). I'm not sure if there's a remake or if they're planning to remake it but if I don't know how they'll pull the...

Shows Round Up Ep 002 (Sanditon, A Christmas Carol, Vanity Fair, North & South)

Image
Sanditon (2019) The story is based from Jane Austen's unfinished novel, Sanditon. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews and most of the negative ones say that the show is nothing like a Jane Austen story. I love Jane Austen period dramas (I think I re-watch the 1995 Pride & Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility every year lol) so of course I was excited to watch it, despite the negative reviews. I did love it. I think, you have to forget that it's a Jane Austen story and just try to see it as it is, it's a very good show. Unfortunately, they obviously set up the story for a season 2 which isn't happening (it started airing in the US /PBS Masterpiece recently, so if it gained a lot of interest there's a chance they might pick it up again but don't hold your breath), so the ending is somewhat unsatisfying. If I have to point out a specific thing that I don't like, it would be how Sidney Parker ( Theo James ) is so rude. If it's in my power ...

Shows Rounds Up Ep 001 (Extraordinary You, Somehow 18, His Dark Materials, Good Omens)

Image
Extraordinary You (2019) Sets place inside a comic book. The 'stage' is what actually appears in the comic while the 'shadow' are stuff that happens behind the scenes, until the next stage happens. Once a character becomes aware that the world they are in a manhwa, they start to remember the things that happen while they're in the 'shadow'. It was annoying how in every ep most of the self-aware characters are bitching about the stage/shadow thing, like pleeeease we get it already the first 5 times. But I would still recommend people to watch it because it was VERY CUTE. Eun Dan Oh ( Kim Hye Yoon ) is too much at times but you can help but feel giddy alongside her, and root for her and Ha Roo ( Ro Woon ).  Somehow 18 (2017) Oh Kyung Wee ( Minho ) can't get over his first love, Han Na Bi ( Lee Yoo Bi ) who discouraged him from committing suicide but ended up killing herself a few days after. He somehow traveled back in time, and now h...

Movies Round Up Ep. 004 (Call Me By Your Name, Elisa & Marcela, Meet Me In St. Gallen) Bonus Web Series C-Drama: Go Princess Go

Image
Call Me By Your Name (2017) I've been hearing great things about Call Me By Your Name since it came out, but my feelings are mixed. Don't get me wrong. The movie is visually beautiful (it's set in Northern Italy, duh) and both  Elio  ( Timothée Chalamet ) and  Oliver  ( Armie Hammer ) are wonderful but a lot of feelings in me are stirred. And I'm not just talking about to urge to pick up a pack of cigarettes despite not having any for more than 4 years with all the smoking going on in the film  Oliver is a phD student and we even learn at the end of the film that he got engaged to his on / off girlfriend. Yes, Elio was the aggressor and yes, he's very mature for his age and yes, he's technically of "legal age" in this setting but it's hard to ignore Oliver's current position and mindset in life is very grown up compared to Elio. But I'm not really here to justify what's right or what's wrong, this is just reality espe...

Netflix's The Witcher Review - Season 1 All Episodes

Image
Please note all screenshots in this post are from Episode 8 Episode 1 - The End's Beginning Introducing Geralt as to how he became the Butcher of Blaviken makes sense, but apart from the fight scene, everything else felt bland. I love how The Lesser Evil was Snow White gone terribly wrong (complete with the mirror, apple and all) but I understand they have to omit a lot in the Netflix series because they had to flesh out Ciri and Yennefer's stories and add / change some things.   Episode 2 Four Marks toss a coin to your witcher I love this episode! Jaskier is a very welcome addition. I didn't liked that the edge of the world wasn't as detailed as I've expected. It would be really fun to see more of Geralt/Jaskier and Torque. But I liked how they explored Yennefer's backstory. Episode 3 Betrayer Moon Another episode that I liked. The adaptation of the short story with the striga was done well even with the tweaks (like includin...

Movies Round Up Ep. 003 (Elise, Dirty Dancing, Wild and Free, Miss Granny)

Image
Elise (2019) I think this poster is loads better than that awful scriptina font they used on the trailer They've both opened their hearts to others, but Bert ( Enchong Dee ) has always been about Elise ( Janine Gutierrez ) deep down. I felt that Elise eventually went with Bert because... he was just there. I don't know. But then again the story is told from Bert's perspective so it makes sense his feelings were highlighted. I've had that sinking feeling that things aren't going to end up well - youth, humor and nostalgia just couldn't mask that air of foreboding. I'm a sucker for happy endings so I was secretly hoping Elise has pulled through but no. Bert and Elise's parents has already come into terms with her passing so there's that. And also, there's ice cream (Josie's ice cream) Dirty Dancing (1987) nobody puts baby in a corner! there I said it! I didn't anticipated that I would like it as much as I did. The ...
