Fragrance Mists and Body Mists Review

I tend to acquire decants and samples when I'm in a midst of a crash out (I'd buy actual perfumes whenever I'm in dire mental straits if my funds allow me but it does not!), so might as well put my quick thoughts about them. I'll try to update this list as I try new ones. Bath & Body Works ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ (I have repurchased these) Wild Honeysuckle - FANTASTIC! One of their more complex fragrances that I've tried. Honey right out of the gate. Smells briefly of kisses (type of aroma beads that was popular in the 90s). Then you get a burst of overwhelming jasmine flowers before settling in to subtle medley of florals. Disappointing longevity however, even for a fragrance mist. Wish I could find something that smells the same but would stay much longer. Moonlight Path  - Smells like powdery, musky flowers. Some people would say old lady perfume but this is actually one of my favorites. THE PERFECT BEDTIME SCENT! One thing I've learned is scents either get reformulat...

Wuthering Heights

Image
I first saw the 1939 version many months ago, and I fell in love with it. It was dark, Cathy and Heathcliff were both very 'hateful', and yet I couldn't help pitying them both. Although many people say that a lot of things in the novel were omitted in the film, I really enjoyed watching it. I found myself crying at the end of the film. It was a good thing I was watching it by myself. I watched the 2009 TV version just last week. I haven't finished reading the book(I stopped at about a few chapters), so I don't know which version is closer to the novel, but Cathy and Heathcliff were much 'milder' in this version. Though I prefer the 1939 film, what I like about this version is it also featured the next generation of characters. It's still very good, though I didn't feel drawn into the story at about the first half of the series.

SPACED

Image
Top: (L-R)Daisy, Tim / Bottom:(L-R)Mike,Marsha, Brian, Twist Having watched ' Hot Fuzz ' and ' Shaun of the Dead ', I was on the look out for more Simon Pegg and Nick Frost . Spaced is a British comedy series starring (and written by) Simon Pegg and Jessica Stevenson . It lasted for 2 seasons with a total of 14 episodes. Tim Bisley and Daisy Steiner are both flat hunting ( fun fact : the place where they met on the first episode is a real cafe - restaurant called ' Diners Delight ', located at Teddington, London). Tim is an aspiring comic book artist and the assistant manager of a comic book shop, the 'Fantasy Bazaar'. Daisy is a writer who always puts off writing. The two posed as a professional couple to meet the requirements of a cheap flat despite not knowing each other well. Their landlady, Marsha , accepts them as tenants and houses two other tenants as well. There is Brian , an artist who works with 'more complex things than...

Maple Story

Image
I've been playing this game for a while now, I can't believe I never blogged about this. Anyway, it's not too late because I'm still playing MS(and not quitting anytime soon). Maple Story is a free to play MMORPG(massively multiplayer online role playing game). You basically create a character, choose a job class(warrior, thief, archer, magician, or pirate but you can remain a beginner for the lulz), explore places, do quests, and grind constantly. The graphics are ok, childish yes, but you'll get used to it. BGM is not spectacular either, but then again, it's not really that relevant. It's addictive but it gets repetitive and boring, the reason why I've been playing MS on and off for years now. But I have to hand it to those behind MS though, there's always something new (quests, maps etc.) that's why even if I don't play for months, I don't have the heart to uninstall it. Since I play on and off, I don't have a high le...

I love Beard Papa .............. not

The first time I saw 'Beard Papa', I knew I had to try the cream puffs right away. Never mind if 50 pesos ($1.13) for a cream puff is too steep for a broke college student like me. I went home, gave the other cream puff to my sister, and then took my first bite. ... .... ..... ...... Well. It wasn't too sweet, which my sister liked. I didn't find anything extraordinary with the cream filling though. I don't know if that branch of 'Beard Papa' just skimped on some ingredients (lol) so the cream puffs didn't tasted the way it should , because the way people rave about Beard Papa, I really expected the cream puffs to be really.... yum. My sister bought a mixed box of 'Beard Papa' yesterday, and again, I was underwhelmed with the cream puffs with toppings. At least the plain ones were better, but still, not good enough to make me spend 50 pesos. Since I'm talking about cream puffs, there is a place near the Philippine Orthopedic Hospi...

Kanashii Tsumi by Jealkb and Tanaka Rie - Ice Tea Romaji Lyrics

Image
I was looking everywhere for the lyrics of the song "Kanashii Tsumi" by Jealkb I found the kanji lyrics here . But since I couldn't read kanji (at least not yet), I used this nifty tool to convert the kanji into romaji. (Thanks to Kristine for sharing the link.) I'll post the lyrics here anyway. Our Big Binondo Walk

Image
I've been dying to try out The Big Binondo Food Wok, a walking tour organized by the old manila walks team. Right now, I can't afford the tour fee and even if I can, there's no way I can find anyone who's willing to go with me (unless I pay for their share) and I don't want to go on the tour with strangers. So I was really glad when Kristine asked me to accompany her to a Chinese temple (which I learned just moments ago, the Santo Cristo de Longos Shrine ) a few weeks ago. I was so excited we were going to Binondo. Never mind if it's the temple she wants to check out, not the food. Hey, she did mention that she's looking forward to sample some Chinese noodles. I was trying to save up for my own version of 'the Big Binondo Food Wok' but, last week, I went out with two of my dearest friends, Bryle and Gracelle, leaving me broke. Then I couldn't seem to save up this week either. Our case study came up and we needed to pay the fee for the LCD pr...
