Snow White: The Fairest of Them All (2001)

Snow White is one of my favorite fairy tale characters. I wonder why no one is making anything about Rose Red (Snow White's sister on an entirely different version of the story) but I'm really excited about the new Disney movie coming out. Honestly, Halle Bailey's Little Mermaid is one of the best Disney adaptations I've seen in YEARS so I have high hopes for Snow White.

In the meantime, I'd like to say that the 2001 film version of Snow White will always have a special place in my heart. Not just because I had a huge thing for Kristin Kreuk back then. I even made her photo as my profile pic in a social networking site (I think it was Hi-5 or Friendster). I wasn't trying to catfish anyone but I guess Smallville isn't as popular as I thought because no one clocked it as her. I had hordes of people trying to hit me up loool.

Look at that face card

This movie wasn't as gruesome as how some versions of the story goes but they were really able to flesh out the tale without offering an explanation as to the hows and whys. I don't know how else to put it but the movie feels straight out of a story book.

No rhyme or reason, just vibes.

For some reason, I find the whole glass shard in the eye thing a bit unsettling (I can't stand eyelashes on my eyeballs). The prince, trapped in the bear form, licking the ice encapsulating Snow White like a Tootsie Pop to reach the center (Snow White) for a kiss was a nice touch.
