Movies Round Up Ep. 002 (Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Arrival, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, The Lost Boys)

Dora and the Lost City of Gold (2019)

exploradora ka ghorl??
After getting past all Dora's (Isabela Merced) cringe fourth wall scenes, I started to enjoy the movie more. It isn't that serious but this is definitely for older kids/teens to watch. I loved the flower field scene the best, it was funny and a nice nod to the animated series.

Arrival (2016)

tegi time

People have been broadcasting messages, leaving time capsules etc. in deep space and I've always wondered how aliens could understand these. I'm not usually into sci-fi films, but this one is subtle and thought provoking. I know heptapods are gentle and all but maaaan they're scary.

If you were Louise (Amy Adams), would you still go through with something if you know it'll just end up in tragedy?

Killer Klowns From Outer Space (1988)

tag yourself - I'm the clown wearing white
It was hard to get past the bad everything. To a lot of people, this is one of those it's so bad that it's so good films and yes, I'm obsessed with the aesthetic and all but I'm still not sure how I feel about Killer Klowns From Outer Space. I started to like it a bit after Debbie (Suzanne Snyder) thought Mike (Grant Cramer) was knocking on her door just to find it was the klowns. With all her escape routes being surrounded by klowns, her situation was so hopeless that it felt a bit creepy.

The Lost Boys (1987)

fueling my permed hair dreams

Good fun. Personally, I think Michael (Jason Patric) can choke but his plight is literally the whole point of the film. Anyway, you can't help cheering Sam (Corey Haim) and the Frog brothers (Edgar Frog / Corey Feldman and Alan Frog / Jamison Newlander) on. I don't know why but I especially find that scene when they were filling up their canteen with holy water inside the church hilarious
