Disclaimer: I do want to be better at expressing my thoughts but I'm pretty much just writing this to help me remember what parts I liked.

Out of all the ones I've watched recently, I think this is my favorite. The songs were enjoyable (my mind automatically singing little shop, little shoppa horrors 🎶 as I type) and apart from being obsessed with Aubrey's (Ellen Greene) outfits I think the overall visuals are great - my favorite bits being Somewhere That's Green and when Seymour (Rick Moranis) fed Audrey to Audrey II (Levi Stubbs).
The version I watched was the one with the cut ending and I actually would have loved a happy one so I watched the theatrical ending immediately after but didn't really liked it. Audrey II getting electrocuted by his own fault just feels unsatisfying. Obviously, Seymour couldn't have fought Audrey II head on but if he had some sort of hand in defeating the plant instead of just being under the rubble... ehh I don't know. Even though Seymour isn't exactly innocent, no one really is. I think a lot of people would have reacted the same way he did when confronted with something scary, so I personally wouldn't begrudge him and Audrey a happy ending.

Even though I didn't liked this as much as the other films in this post, Invasion of the Body Snatchers gave me that doomed feels the most. I wasn't sure about the exact timeline, but I think it wasn't even a week since Elizabeth (Brooke Adams) bought home that flower when almost all the people in the city were replaced by Pods. The Pods work together well - and fast. By the time you find out what's really happening with everyone around you, it's already too late.

Admittedly, half the time I was bored of watching this (especially in the earlier parts of the movie) but I think the great thing about this film is there is a lot of stuff to unpack that you just find yourself thinking about what happens after - long after you've finished watching it.
I want to believe that The Thing was destroyed and both McReady (Kurt Russell) and Childs (Keith David) are human. Buuuut, if I have to choose I'm more inclined to believe that Childs is a Thing. What do you think?

Apart from that, I think that the world in The Thing isn't fucked just yet. The research team was able to find out a lot of the thing's properties in such a short amount of time and with limited resources (yes, the base was somewhat well stocked and they weren't just a bunch of random people but imagine if a whole team of scientists were studying the thing in a proper laboratory) that even if the thing survived at the end, the whole situation isn't entirely hopeless. But then again the space ship was far too large for carrying just one thing...

I loved a lot of the songs in the musical but never saw the original film so I was looking forward to this the most. Watching Heathers is an entirely different experience. Some scenes can be really uncomfortable at times (intentionally so) and the dialogue is genius.
Christian Slater was excellent, I hated J.D./Jason Dean so much that I want to beat him up lol. Veronica (Winona Ryder) isn't very likeable either, but we've all been Veronica at some point. I wished Heather Chandler (Kim Walker) had more screen time but out of the three Heathers I think I like Heather Duke (Shannen Doherty) the most because she looked gorgeous (I'm shallow). Do you have a favorite Heather?
Even though the plot is mostly the same, the musical never really got the dark tone of the original film. More than 30 years later, the issues in the film are still timely and relatable. I think this is something every teenager should watch - it'll be very.
